“When I joined UHF I was in a mess, I was struggling to lose weight and unable to exercise properly because of bad knees.

I had got to that point where I had to make the decision to get help. I was unhappy and frustrated with myself and my body.

Last year myself and my husband booked our 1st trek to walk the Inca Trail in Peru and I knew I had to get my body sorted, walking was about the only exercise I could do but hiking the Inca Trail was going to be a lot harder and i needed help!
Within a few months of joining UHF I did my first long hike of the Yorkshire 3 peak challenge and the Inca Trail. I’m also a lot stronger and fitter than I’ve ever been in my life.

My whole life and outlook has changed. I’m fitter, stronger and now make time for me. Gym time is my time. I spend a couple of hours a week meal prepping and that gives me more time to relax. My sleep quality is so much better and that has improved other areas. I’m calmer, more motivated and don’t see little things as a big deal anymore. I’m kinder to myself but can push myself further than I ever imagined.

Weight training has proven to me that I don’t need to do endless cardio to get in shape.

My advise to anyone thinking about starting on this journey is give it a go. I initially gave myself 3 months and committed to that.

The help, training and advise that Chris (and other members) has given me has changed my life. 11 months on I’m in the best shape of my life and don’t plan on stopping anytime soon. The other members are a fantastic bunch of people who are always willing to help and be encouraging towards each other.

Joining UHF and putting my fears behind me was definitely the best decision I’ve made in a long time.
